Before Your Duct Cleaning
Here is exactly what to expect, plus the four things we need from you before we pull up. Fifteen minutes the night before and the whole job goes faster.
What We Need From You
Handle these the night before, not while we are standing in your driveway. When any one of them is missing the job runs long, and sometimes we have to reschedule it.
- Move your stuff off the vents. Every supply and return register in the house gets cleaned, so every one of them has to be reachable. Boxes, totes, furniture, laundry baskets, rugs, storage stacked against the furnace. We are not able to move your belongings for you, and anything we cannot get to does not get cleaned.
- Give us a door for the cords and hoses. Usually the closest exterior door to the furnace. Our lines run from the truck through that door and it stays propped open the whole time we are working, so plan for it with the pets and the thermostat.
- Clear the driveway, as close to the house as we can get. The vacuum and the air compressor both run off the truck, and hose length is real. Move the cars before we show up.
- Leave the 220v dryer outlet open. We unplug your dryer and run our air compressor off that outlet. Keep the laundry area clear and the dryer reachable.
Helps a Lot, Not Required
- Move fragile or valuable items. Take anything breakable off the floor or off shelves right next to the vents we will be working around. We are careful and we lay drop cloths, but better safe than sorry.
- Plan for pets. A door propped open and a commercial vacuum running is a lot for an animal. Easiest is a closed room we are not working in, or crated.
- Someone 18 or older should be home. We do a quick walkthrough with you at the start to confirm the scope and lock the flat price before anything comes off the wall.
- Have your questions ready. Wondering about a specific vent, a smell, or add-ons like sanitizing fog or a dryer vent? Ask when we get there and we will price it on the spot.

We protect your home
Drop cloths down and shoe covers on. We treat your house like it is on our own street.
The actual cleaning
We hook up a commercial negative-pressure vacuum and clean every supply, every return, the trunk lines, and the blower area. You will hear the vacuum running the whole time. That part is normal.
Photos and walkthrough
We take before and after photos of the work, walk you through what we found, and do a quick visual check of your HVAC while we are in there.
How Long Does It Take?
Most homes take a couple of hours depending on size and how many vents and systems you have. Bigger homes, or add-ons like sanitizing fog, a blower or coil pull, or a dryer vent, take a little longer. You will get a better time estimate during the walkthrough.
After We Are Done
- You get your before and after photos, so you can actually see the difference.
- Cleaner air moving through the home and less dust settling on surfaces.
- Swap your furnace filter in the next week or so for a fresh start.

Payment and Scheduling
Nothing is due up front. We keep a card on file to hold your slot and you are only charged once the job is done and you have approved the work. Need to change your time? The earlier you let us know, the easier it is to give your slot to a neighbor. Just give us a call, no problem.
Common Questions
Why do you need my dryer outlet?
Our air compressor runs on 220v and the dryer outlet is the one your house already has. We unplug the dryer, plug in, and put it back the way we found it when we are done.
What if I physically cannot move something?
Call or text us at (816) 708-2608 before the day and tell us what it is. There is usually a plan. What does not work is us finding out at the door, because then we are either working around it or rescheduling you.
Do I need to take the vent covers off?
No. We pull the registers ourselves and put them back where they came from.
Will it make a mess?
It should not. The vacuum runs under negative pressure so debris goes into the machine, not into the room. Drop cloths go down anyway.
Do you need to get into the attic or crawlspace?
Sometimes, depending on where your trunk lines and returns run. We will tell you before we go anywhere.
Can I add a dryer vent or sanitizing on the day?
Yes. Ask during the walkthrough and we will give you the flat add-on price before we touch it. Full pricing lives on the duct cleaning page.
