Before Your Dryer Vent Cleaning
This is usually the quickest visit on our schedule, as long as we can get to the dryer, the outlet, and the outside hood.
What We Need From You
We clean the whole line, from the dryer connection out to the exterior hood, which means we have to reach both ends. Handle these before we pull up.
- Clear the laundry room. Move the baskets, the totes, the shelving, and anything stacked on or beside the dryer. We will pull the dryer out ourselves, but we cannot move your belongings to get to it.
- Leave the 220v dryer outlet open. We unplug the dryer and run our air compressor off that outlet. It has to be reachable, not buried behind storage.
- Clear the way to the outside exhaust hood. Trim back or move whatever is in front of it. Bushes, trash cans, patio furniture, stacked firewood.
- Clear the driveway, as close to the house as possible, and give us a door we can run cords and hoses through. It stays propped open while we work.
Helps a Lot, Not Required
- Roof exit? Tell us before the day if anything changed. Roof access is priced differently than a side or ground exit, so we want to send the right setup.
- Run a load beforehand if you can. It helps us see the actual airflow problem you have been dealing with.
- Plan for pets. A door propped open and loud equipment is a lot for an animal.
- Someone 18 or older should be home so we can confirm the exit type and the flat price with you before we start.

Side or ground exit, roof exit, or with a camera inspection. We lock the flat price with you first.
Pull the dryer and disconnect
We move the dryer out, disconnect the transition hose, and check the connection while we are back there.
Clean the full line
Rotating brush and vacuum from the dryer connection all the way out to the exterior hood. Not just the first few feet, which is where the cheap version stops.
Airflow check and photos
We confirm the line is moving air the way it should, take photos of what came out, and put the dryer back where it lives.
How Long Does It Take?
Most dryer vents are a short visit compared to a duct cleaning. A long run, a roof exit, or a bird nest adds time. We will tell you what we are looking at once we see the line.
Things We Sometimes Find
- A bird nest at the exit. Removal is $100. Common on roof and high side exits, and you usually hear them before you see them.
- A crushed or cracked flex hose behind the dryer. Replacement is $80.
- A broken or missing exterior hood. Replacement is $175.

Common Questions
Do I need to move the dryer out myself?
No. We pull it, clean the line, and put it back. What we do need is the space around it clear so we can get to it.
Why do you unplug my dryer?
Our air compressor runs on 220v and your dryer outlet is the 220v your house already has. We unplug, run our equipment, and plug the dryer back in before we leave.
Will the laundry room be a mess?
It should not be. The vacuum captures the lint as the brush breaks it loose.
What if my vent turns out to be a roof exit?
We will tell you before we start and confirm the price with you. Roof exits are $225 flat, side and ground exits are $175.
Can you do this the same day as a duct cleaning?
Yes, and most people do. Ask during the duct cleaning walkthrough and we will add it on the spot at the flat price.
